Account Representative  

We are seeking an individual for our Property & Casualty department to provide technical support for the processing and selling of all lines of commercial insurance.
 
 Primary Job Functions & Responsibilities
  • Perform all of the day to day servicing needs of the client.
  • Prepare proposals and policy surveys.
  • Maintain direct communication with company underwriters and clients on servicing of accounts.
  • Check policy coverage and rating for accuracy and relevance on all new business, endorsements, audits and renewals.
  • Review contracts and agreements for insurance/risk management implications and provide coverage and/or certificate issuance instructions.
  • Prepare proposals to review prior to delivery.
  • Prepare applications, surveys and other documents for submissions and assist marketing new and renewal business.
  • Coordinate co-surety programs, secure approvals, execute payment, performance and bid bonds, manage capacity, prepare reports and interface with clients and sureties.
  • Assist as needed on serious claim situations with client and/or company personnel.
  • Assist with presentation of new and renewal proposals as requested.
  • Maintain electronic account folders and computer files according to established procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required or as instructed by the Account Executive and/or Producer.
  • Pursue a program for personal and professional development.
  • Keep informed of industry developments through review of trade press and by attending company training meetings on new products. 
  • Uphold and promote the professional and ethical standards of the agency.
Job Specifications: (Education, experience, skills, characteristics) 
  • High school diploma, college degree desirable.
  • Five years related experience.
  • Above average phone personality and ability to deal with people.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Good knowledge of commercial policy forms, rating and coverage descriptions.
  • Knowledge of agency management system preferably AMS
  • Basic technical education necessary and should be pursuing professional courses (CPCU, CIC, ARM)
  • Must possess Illinois license and appropriate non-resident licenses.
